Today’s story from Bill is particularly interesting because in addition to showcasing his top-notch jersey-restoration skills, it also helps fill in some of the historical blanks regarding one of the biggest anomalies in MLB uniform history - the Tigers’ 1995 navy alternate, which was supposed to be worn on Sundays but was instead mothballed after one game after team management didn’t like the way they looked.
